The Start of Sky Interests
Owner and operator of Sky Interests, Michael Swiercinsky, began his Real Estate career in 1982 in San Antonio, Texas. After first owning a lawn care business, and later a janitorial company, he knew he wanted to continue to own his own company because of his entrepreneurial mindset. He was first introduced to Real Estate when he started as an Agent working out of nothing more than a telephone closet as his office. This is where he became fascinated with the industry due to the captivating infrastructures, reoccurring income, and the long-term relationships. In 1984, Michael became a general operating partner, by raising enough capital to develop his first property, which became a retail shopping center in Seguin, Texas.
In 1989, Michael moved to Rockwall, Texas to start a family. This is where he learned of the potential of the Historic Rockwall Square. Having believed in the community and the market, Michael acquired (and still owns) his first Rockwall commercial property in 1991, located at 103 North Goliad. At that time, the town was fairly small, and the city had yet to develop a Main Street Program.
Since then, Michael has continued to acquire other Rockwall properties, and has built multiple long-term relationships within the community. As 103 North Goliad was Sky Interests’ original office in 1991, the company will continue to keep a location on the Historic Rockwall Square. Today, as the city has now grown in development and population, Michael has leased out many of his Rockwall properties to locally owned businesses.
Through the years of learning and growing his company, Michael still resides in Rockwall, TX. He found his niche in acquiring existing undervalued properties, and converting them into well-performing, income-producing buildings. He has been able to branch out to the DFW area, Houston, San Antonio, Waco, and Oklahoma. To this day, Michael still works with some of his partners from when he first became a principal in 1984.
Michael has now built a strong team, which includes his son and daughter working alongside him. His goal is to always create a family owned feel to the company, and to build a personable environment that is reflected in both the team, and the tenant base.
