The Start of Sky Interests
Owner and operator of Sky Interests, Michael Swiercinsky, began his real estate career in 1982 in San Antonio, Texas. After first owning a lawn care business, and then later owning a janitorial company, he knew he wanted to create a company with his entrepreneurial mindset. He started as a real estate agent in San Antonio, Texas working out of nothing more than a telephone closet for an office. This is where he became fascinated with the real estate industry for the captivating infrastructures, reoccurring income, and the long-term relationships. In 1984, Michael became a general operating partner, by raising enough capital to develop his first property. This property became a retail shopping center in Seguin, Texas.
In 1989, Michael moved to Rockwall, Texas to start a family. The city was, and still is, known for their amazing school district, which is what brought him to the area. This is where he learned of the potential of the Historic Rockwall Square. Having believed in the community and the market there, in 1991, Michael acquired, and still owns, his first Rockwall commercial property located at 103 North Goliad. This was back when Goliad was a two-way street, there was only one traffic light, and before the city developed a Main Street Program.
Since that day, Michael has acquired many other Rockwall properties, and has built multiple long-term relationships within the community. As 103 North Goliad was Sky Interests’ original office in 1991, the company will continue to keep a location on the Historic Rockwall Square. Today, the city of Rockwall has spent their time and effort to improve the Historic Square, which is what makes it what it is today.
Through the years of learning and growing his company, Michael still resides in Rockwall, TX. He found his niche in acquiring existing undervalued properties, and converting them into well-preforming, income-producing buildings. While continuing to purchase properties in the DFW area, he has been able to branch out to Houston, San Antonio, Waco, and Oklahoma. To this day, Michael still works with some of his partners from when he first became a principal in 1984.
Having started and operating his company in the DFW area by himself, he has now built a strong team, which includes his son and daughter, working alongside him. His goal is to always create a family owned feel to the company, and to build a personable environment that is reflected in both the team, and the tenant base.
